Job Overview & Responsibilities

A Commercial Roofing Estimator works with our commercial team and clients to assess, plan, bid, and win commercial roofing projects. They also assist in the ongoing goal of improving our work flow processes related to estimating and staying at the forefront of industry practices and standards.

– Project Assessment: Review and analyze project specifications, blueprints, and proposals to determine scope and requirements for commercial roofing projects.
– Site Visits: Conduct site evaluations to gather necessary measurements and data for accurate estimating.
– Cost Estimation: Calculate material, labor, and equipment costs to develop comprehensive and competitive project bids.
– Proposal Preparation: Prepare detailed and clear proposals for clients, ensuring all specifications and costs are accurately represented.
– Client Interaction: Engage with clients to discuss project needs, answer questions, and ensure a positive and informed experience throughout the estimating process.
– Vendor Liaison: Communicate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain pricing and material information crucial for estimating.
– Market Analysis: Stay informed about industry trends, costs, and innovations to maintain competitive and up-to-date estimating practices.

Education and Experience Requirements:

– A minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial roofing estimation
– Extensive knowledge of commercial roofing systems, materials, construction processes, and theories
– Proficiency in takeoff software or other construction estimating software
– Exceptional analytical and mathematical skills
– Strong communication and negotiation skills
– Excellent attention to detail and the ability to make accurate judgments and decisions
– Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and handle multiple projects simultaneously
– A thorough understanding of the commercial construction industry, including the various stages of construction projects, from design to completion
– Ability to read and understand construction plans and specifications
– Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to handle unexpected situations effectively
– Knowledge of safety and legal documentation procedures for the construction industry
– Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and Outlook

Salary Range: $70,000.00 – $120,000.00 per year
